Wolvie's Caramel Cake

1-2-3-4 cake modified to be caramel cake

1 cup butter
2 cups dark brown sugar, packed into measuring cup
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups cake flour, sifted
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup milk

Cream butter. Gradually add sugar, mix until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition.
Add vanilla.

Sift flour with baking powder and salt.
Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour.

Pour batter into 3 prepared 9" cake pans or 10" bundt pan. Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes (longer for bundt, probably 35-40 minutes, keep checking cake for doneness after 30 minutes).

Cool in pan for 10 minutes (I usually do for 30 minutes).

Icing as desired. I make a caramel sauce to drizzle over individual slices, but the cake does not need it. It is very moist, and tastes great! --Wolvie
